Star City Fall Classic

The Star City Fall Classic is a youth soccer tournament hosted by Team 402 at Speedway Sports Complex in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Team 402 is a nonprofit youth sports organization dedicated to providing high-quality athletic opportunities for players of all backgrounds while promoting character development, sportsmanship, and community engagement. The tournament reflects Team 402’s commitment to creating positive, affordable, and competitive playing opportunities for youth athletes throughout the Midwest. The tournament is open to both competitive and recreational boys and girls teams in age groups U7 through U19. Divisions will be structured to provide appropriate competition levels and a positive experience for all participants. Teams will compete in a professionally organized event utilizing Speedway Sports Complex's premier soccer facilities, featuring multiple full-sized outdoor fields and centralized tournament operations. The Star City Fall Classic is designed to provide an enjoyable early-season tournament experience that emphasizes player development, quality competition, and sportsmanship.

All matches will be conducted in accordance with FIFA Laws of the Game, US Youth Soccer, Nebraska State Soccer Association, and tournament-specific rules. Certified referees will officiate all matches, and tournament champions will be recognized in each eligible division.

On January 1, 2024, management of the Speedway Sports Complex Fieldhouse and all outdoor soccer fields was assumed by a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, in part built to provide access to the best facilities and coaches for all amateur athletes at all levels, so that an athlete’s Work Ethic alone determines whether s / he reaches their full potential. 

All profits earned from gate fees and concession stand sales are reinvested into our local amateur youth athletes. Check out the NEW Hellas Matrix turf installed August 2024!

Concessions

The Fieldhouse concession stand will be open anytime games are in session. We are Coke soda vendor and sell everything from locally-made LeQuartier cinnanom rolls to hotdogs, popcorn, and candy. We also hold a liquor license!

Hotel Info

We have partnered with TRAVELING TEAMS to secure discounted room blocks at a variety of tournament approved hotels close to our venue.  This is a Stay to Play event.  It is required that all teams traveling to this event reserve their hotel accomodations through TRAVELING TEAMS.
